Vande Bharat has been the first choice of the new generation of train travelers. It is currently the most popular train in India. However, the fare has been on the upper side. Due to this, most of the train travelers felt that it targeted affluent citizens instead of common citizens. To make the Vande Bharat experience affordable for all, Indian Railways is expected to introduce the non-AC versions of Vande Bharat by the end of this year.
The non-AC Vande Bharat trains will offer cheaper travel options for the masses without compromising on speed, comfort, and interior technology. Non-AC Vande Bharat trains will differ from the upcoming Vande Bharat Sleeper long-distance trains and Vande Bharat Metro short-distance intercity trains.
Non-AC Vande Bharat Features
According to a recent article in Hindustan Times, the upcoming non-AC Vande Bharat trains might be announced in October this year. Two non-AC trains will go live this year, offering improved interiors and passenger amenities.
Vande Bharat train is known for its sharp aerodynamic features. However, the exterior of the non-AC Vande Bharat train will be comparatively different. It is also said that the non-AC train will run at a maximum speed of 130 kmph instead of 160 kmph since running trains with open windows at higher speeds is not advisable due to safety.
Unlike the current Vande Bharat trains, which have 8 coaches and 16 coaches variants, the new non-AC trains will have 21 coaches and 2 specially designed locomotives. These locomotives will be attached at each end for an optimum push-pull operation, enabling a faster travel experience.
Non-AC Vande Bharat Sadharan
It is also interesting to note that this train might be called the Vande Sadharan train to differentiate itself from the original Vande Bharat train. The Non-AC Vande Bharat train will enhance the traveling experience of the common person, allowing them to access fast and safe travel at an affordable cost.
