Lucknow to Dehradun Vande Bharat Express is one of the most popular trains on this route. The number of passengers is expected to increase next month during the upcoming Maha Kumbh festival. To accommodate more passengers, Indian Railways has decided to add 2 new coaches to Train No. 22545 Lucknow Jn. – Dehradun Vande Bharat Express, which will return as Train No. 22546 Dehradun – Lucknow Jn. Vande Bharat Express.
Two Coaches Addition From 2025
The Maha Kumbh Mela will be held next year at Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh from January 13th, 2025 to February 26th, 2025 and approx 40 to 45 crores of devotees are expected to attend the holy festival. To serve these huge crowds, Indian Railways has decided on adding new coaches to the Lucknow-Dehradun Vande Bharat Express.
These two coaches are expected to be delivered to railways by the end of this year. It will expand the seating capacity of both the AC Chair Car (CC) and Executive Chair Car (EC) since one coach will be allotted to the AC Chair Car and the other one to the Executive Chair Car.
New Stop at Najibabad Jn
The 44th Vande Bharat Express was inaugurated on September 16, 202,4 between Lucknow Junction and Dehradun with stops at Bareilly Jn, Moradabad Jn and Haridwar. Due to its rising popularity, Indian Railways has announced a new stop on this route at Najibabad Jn. It will be the first Vande Bharat Express to stop at Najibabad Junction and it will allow the passengers in Najibabad and nearby areas to seamlessly travel towards Dehradun or Lucknow in the elegant Vande Bharat Express.

This schedule change will be implemented on an experimental basis from December 10 onwards. The addition of two new coaches and a stop will allow more passengers to book a confirmed ticket and participate easily during the Maha Kumbh festival.
