On 1st April 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the first Vande Bharat Express between Delhi’s Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station and Bhopal’s Rani Kamlapati railway station. It is the country’s 11th Vande Bharat Express and the 4th to depart from Delhi. The fare for the complete route starts at just ₹1,665.
The Vande Bharat Express from Delhi to Bhopal will cover a distance of 700 km in just 7.30 hours, and it will run six days a week, except on Saturdays. The train will halt at Agra Cantonment, Gwalior, and Jhansi railway stations for 2 mins each.
The train consists of 16 coaches, two executive classes, and 14 chair car coaches with a seating capacity of 1,128 passengers. The train honors Rani Kamlapati, the Gondwana queen who reigned in Bhopal in the 17th century. The train aims to provide passengers with a fast, comfortable, and convenient travel experience and enhance the region’s tourism and economic growth.
