The new Vande Bharat Express trial run was conducted today (March 30, 2023) between Chennai and Coimbatore in the southern part of the country. The train, which started from Dr. M.G. Ramachandran Central Railway Station (Chennai) at 5.40 am, was scheduled to reach Coimbatore at 11.40 am. However, to everyone’s surprise, the train reached Coimbatore Junction at 11.18 am.
Chennai – Vande Bharat Express covered a distance of 496 km in just 5 hours and 38 minutes. The train will run within Tamil Nadu, and the proposed stopping is Jolarpettai Junction, Salem Junction, Erode Junction, and Tiruppur railway station.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to launch the Chennai-Coimbatore Vande Bharat Express on April 8th. It will be India’s 12th Vande Bharat Express, after Delhi-Bhopal Vande Bharat Express, which is expected to be flagged off on April 1st.
